It ALL started with a Flower…
In was the day before Autumn Equinox in September 2023 when I posted this mirco poem on my Instagram and Facebook account:
The Message of Flowers…
Forget-me-nots symbolize true love and respect. When you give someone these tiny blooms, it represents a promise that you will always remember them and will keep them in your thoughts.
I have always loved looking for the meaning behind a flower.
One of my friends responded to my post that he loved Gerbera’s, and I must say, they are one of my favorites also.
So, I looked for the meaning of the Gerbera and read:
“The gerbera has different meanings to different cultures. The Egyptians believed that they symbolised a closeness to nature and a devotion to the Sun, whereas the Celts thought they lessened the sorrows and stresses of everyday life. Generally, gerberas symbolise innocence, purity, cheerfulness and are connected to the happiness of children.” ~ interflora
Now, I was intrigued as this description of the Gerbera spoke about the Celts, and it being a day before Mabon.
“Mabon is the name of the Celtic festival that celebrates the autumn equinox and takes place when the summer heat gives way to the crisp air of autumn. This event is held every year as a part of the traditional Celtic festivals, which trace back to ancient times.” ~irishcultureandtraditions.org
Suddenly, I remembered I saw Orange (the color of Autumn) Gerberas in an Instagram Story of the Sacred Crystal Circle at the yurt ceremony by Tessa Koop that day. Tessa Koop, also know as ‘Cosmic Woman’ is a Dutch woman who channels the energy of the 13 Grandmothers.
I also saw in her stories a drawing of Meraylah Allwood – an illustrator and artist who has worked with many authors and publishers around the world, illustrating books on subjects including natural history, healing, ancient history, folklore, fantasy, and magical traditions.
In this drawing also are Orange Gerberas AND can you see how the heart of the weaving woman resembles an Orange Gerbera also?
Isn’t it magical?! I believe flowers ARE messengers and wayshowers indeed.
No coincidence of course, that there’s a Flower on the bookcover of my first poetry book Between Worlds. Which by the way, has turned into a beautiful young woman – like a fairy – on the bookcover of my second poetry collection When…Two Worlds Meet.
A Flower as a Wayshower…
For me, some things came together:
the flowers, the colors, the sun, our heart, and also balance.
But what does it mean? In this blog I am going to reflect on this, connecting the dots, like I do as an Intuitive Writer.
As with Intuitive Writing it is not so much about whether or not it is true or not, but what it means to you on your specific Souljourney.
Often though, I find if something has meaning to me, it also has meaning to others. That’s the reason why I am writing this blog and sharing my insights.
Now, let’s continue…some free writing here:
Equinox stands for balance. The balance of dark and light. The Presence of the Sun at one side and the other side, is equal. The Sun is like our heart, connecting the upper and the lower half of our Existence. Our heart is like a flower, always opening up and closing down again, opening and closing, opening and closing. Like the seasons of nature. Like all life. Birth and Depth. Cycles. The cycles of life. And we, as women are like the Goddesses of this Cycle, as lifegivers and bringers. Warm in our womb, life grows, unseen, until it is ready to be born into this world. What wants to be born, but even more, want wants to be kept warm and safe within you, so it can develop and grow into something that will be born when time is ready. Your Promise. The Flower you grow within, is your Promise. Your Gift to the World. Now, don’t look for other gods or goddesses outside of you. Be your own. Grow what needs to grow, in order to be of service to the world. Yes, flowers are messengers and wayshowers, and so are you. So are you my child. No, you are not little, you are big. A B.I.G. flower; Beautiful, Intelligent, Gentle. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Now, nurish your flower, your gift, so you can show it to the world, once it is full grown.

This was some free writing from me. It kind of surprised me, because when I started writing this blog I thought it would be about one of the Ancient Celtic Goddesses that are connected to Autumn.
But this writing from the Soul learned me, once again, that we don’t have to search outside of ourselves; you are your own Goddess.
Your Gold is within…
This channeled message from my Soul, Higher Self and Source is also in full alignment with the Song that has been running through my head the last couple of days by Ayla Schafer:
Hold to the light that is born from the dark
